Here you will find answers to email related questions, for
example which email ABOUT US are supported, mailbox quotas, etc...
- Is the space for the email mailboxes and mail storage included
in web space or does the web space only refer to files for website
pages?
- Space for emails is limited to 15MB in total and 10MB in your
Inbox. Space you use for your
emails does not count against your available web space.
-
- Does your hosting service include POP3 e-mail ABOUT US?
- Yes, of course. All our accounts come with POP3 email ABOUT US.
For a comparison of the number of email accounts that come with each
package visit our comparison page.
- Do you provide email forwarding and auto responders?
- With all our hosting packages we provide email forwards, POP3
mailboxes and auto responders.
- I am using a language other than English to write my emails.
Can I send or receive emails in my language (i.e. Japanese or Arabic)
?
- Yes, of course this is possible. As long as your email program
which you use to write and receive your email supports your
language, this will work perfectly.
- What kind of email service do you run, POP3, IMAP or both?
- We currently support POP3 mail ABOUT US. IMAP is not
supported. We also offer web based email access that allows you to check
your email from any internet connected computer. Just request to have your webmail account setup after we
setup your hosting account.
- Does ez123hosting offer an SMTP server?
-
SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) is
the Internet-wide standard method for sending email. All modern mail clients
support this protocol. SMTP is
what's used when you click the "Send' button.
In most cases, you'll want to connect to
your Internet Service Providers (ISPs) SMTP mail server when sending mail.
This is done by setting your Outgoing or SMPT Server to
"mail.yourISP.com" or some variation of this, check with your
ISP. This server will be "closer" to you on your network, and you won't
need to change as many of your mail client's settings.
Some ISP's, however, do not allow you to send mail from any other domain
name but their own. If you change or add another account with the address in your mail client
to "yourname@yourdomainname", your message may be rejected. If
this is the case follow the guidelines laid out below to correct the situation.
If your ISP restricts mail to only their @myISP.com, you can use ez123hosting's SMTP
server to send mail. All you need to do is set your Outgoing or SMPT
Server to
"mail.yourdomainname.com"
(be sure to add .com/.net to domain as appropriate) and follow this
procedure:
1) Check for new mail on any ez123hosting POP account (mailbox)
2) You now have access to the SMTP server - send mail as you normally
would
-
Access to the SMTP server will expire 15 minutes after you check your
mail. If you need to send more messages, simply access any mailbox on
the ez123hosting POP server again and the timeout will be reset.
-
Note: If your e-mail client software (like Outlook Express for example)
is set to send mail before receiving, you will get an error. After authenticating with the incoming server it will
send your mail if you hit send again.
Why do you have to check your mail first?
STMP servers do not require a username and password to use them. ISP's
know who you are when you connect to their SMTP server, because you
logged into their network with a username and password when you
connected to the Internet. ez123hosting's SMTP server , on the other hand,
does not know who you are, because your ISP doesn't share your login
information. Therefore, in order to verify your identity
as a ez123hosting customer, we require you access a valid mailbox on our POP
server first.
Important note for AOL and Prodigy users: The email client contained in
your provider’s software does not allow you access to the mail server
settings. For you to use ez123hosting’s SMTP server to send mail you must
download a stand alone email client from the internet and run it outside
of your provider’s software. Please click here
for help in configuring your new email client software.
- How do I configure a new email address in my mail program (Internet
Explorer, Netscape etc.)?

- What characters are allowed in an Email
Username?

numbers, dashes, underscores ( _ ) or periods. Usernames must contain a minimum of
5 characters
and they cannot begin with a number (ie:1username).

allowed in an email password?
-
For security reasons, an email password must
contain at least 6 characters. A secure password should contain a
mix of letters and numbers.
Will I be able to setup email forwarding
from my email accounts?
Definitely! Open your web based email at www.yourdomain.net:8000
and simply click on the NT Mail button to take you to the administration
section. Then click on the account button and then click on the Forward
tab and enter the address your wish to forward you mail to and finish by
clicking Update. Also check the "retain copy of received mail"
option if you would like to do so.
- How can I let my friends know that my email
address has changed?
-
Both Outlook and Outlook Express allow you to
create "auto responders". Simply add an auto responder to
your old email address configuration letting all your friends know
your email address has changed.
-
-
To create an auto responder in Outlook Express:
-
- Create a new message (File -> New -> Mail Message)
that reminds your friends of your new e-mail address
-
- Select File - > Save As at the top of the e-mail
and save the message as message. Note where you
are saving the message.
- Then select Tools -> Message Rules -> Mail from the
menu bar
- Check the When the To line contains people option in
the top window
- Check the Reply with message option in the second
window
-
-
Select the contains people link in the Rules
Description window
- Add your olduser@myISP.com e-mail address in the space provided and
click the Add button
- Select the message link in the Rules Description
window
- In the Open dialog box, select the message.eml
file that you created earlier and click the Open button
- The path to your message.eml file will appear in the Rules
Description dialog box
- Select OK to apply the new rule
-
With this new message rule, anyone who sends you an email
message will automatically receive a copy of your message.eml file
letting them know that your email address has now changed.
- I have a user@myISP.com email address. If I
create a new user@mydomain.com email address, will I be able to access them
both?
- You have several options available to access
your email.
You can configure your email client to
download email addressed to both your user@myISP.com and user@yourdomain.com email
addresses to the same Inbox.
For step-by-step instructions on adding another
email address to either Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger,
or other clients click here.
-
You can also log into web mail account and activate email forwarding. This will automatically forward any
email addressed to your user@yourdomain.com email address to your
user@myISP.com address where you would read and respond to all emails.
Ensure you do not check the "retain copy" option in the forwarding
setup or else your user@yourdomain.com email inbox will exceed its quota and
will stop receiving messages.

email messages. What is the maximum file attachment size allowed?
-
We allow a maximum file attachment size of 5
MB's. This size limit includes the
encoding necessary for an attached file to be converted to text
when sent and converted back to it's original format when the
message is received. Therefore, the maximum file size can vary
depending on the type of file being sent.
- I am going to be away from my computer. Can
I set up an auto-responder to reply to people who send me email?
-
An auto responder is available through your web mail account or
can be setup in most mail clients as well. See "How can I let my friends know that my email
address has changed?" above for the steps to setup an auto
responder in Outlook Express.
